Now, it is the picking time of Morel mushrooms artificially farmed in Lingshang Cooperative of Yiliang County, Yunnan Province of China.

“We averagely pick at least 100kg of fresh Morel mushrooms per day, and picking period is estimated to terminate by June,” introduces chief of the cooperative warmly.

Henk started his career in 1978 in Zeeland at a mushroom farm, a little town in the south of Holland, and worked his way up to management level and was offered to lead a new farm. He decided then to broaden his horizon and moved to New Zealand, but due to family circumstances he went back to the Netherlands and was quickly picked up by the Mushroom University. He worked there as a teacher, with a strong focus on short courses, for more than ten years and travelled a lot to Ireland and the UK.

The next step in his career was becoming an independent mushroom consultant and became part of AdVisie an consultancy service company in 2011. For 8 years he travelled the world and visited numerous of customers to provide them with mushroom advice and loved the troubleshooting aspect of this work. From this year, 2019 Henk has become a fully independent mushroom consultant and is working for his own customers mainly in Europe.

Next to all his mushroom activities, Henk and his wife Ans have their own company “Akkie’s Tuin”. Ans and Henk are beekeepers with a passion for bees, healthy eating and drinking. They grow fruits and herbs as well.

We are looking forward to his contribution to our platform and the mushroom industry by sharing his experience and knowledge!

3. Price of Enoki mushroom has risen from 4 to 6.5 CNY per kg, indicating 63% of increase range.

4. Price of Brown Shimeji mushroom has risen from 12.5 to 13.4 CNY per kg, indicating 7% of increase range.

5. Price of Agrocybe cylindracea has risen from 12 to 14 CNY per kg, indicating 17% of increase range.

On the contrary, by April 15, Pleurotus nebrodensis and Oyster mushroom are 2 varieties that show price fall.

1. Price of Pleurotus nebrodensis has dropped from 26 to 24 CNY per kg, indicating 8% of decline range.

2. Price of Oyster mushroom has dropped from 7 to 5 CNY per kg, indicating 29% of decline range.

“Price of Shiitake mushroom, Superior Shiitake mushroom, White beech mushroom, Seafood mushroom and Button mushroom is respectively at 12 CNY, 16 CNY and 16.7 CNY, 8 CNY and 13 CNY per kg. Recently, price of industrialized mushroom varieties shows an overall upward trend in our market, Enoki mushroom and King oyster mushroom are quite evident on aspect of that,” introduces manager of Gansu Lanzhou Zhangsutan Vegetable Wholesale Market passionately.
