The management during the fruiting period of Monkey head mushroom

May 06, 2017

1. Adjust the temperature: During the fruiting period, the optimal temperature range is 16-20 degrees, under suitable temperature, from budding to growing, it usually takes 10-12 days.

What’s more, sporocarps lead tardy growth tendency when temperature exceeds 23 degrees, when it exceeds 25 degrees, mushroom bodies become withered, hence during the fruiting period, mushroom farmers should particularly look out the humidity of mushroom house.

2. Enhance the ventilation: Monkey head mushrooms pertain to Aerobic fungus, poor ventilation produces excessive accumulation of carbon dioxide, constantly stimulates stipes to branch and eventually results in malformed mushrooms. In wild bedding cultivation, you should uncover the film and ventilate for 30 minutes at 8:00 AM. When you find that sporocarps have grown up, strengthen the ventilation every morning, night and moderately extend the time of ventilation. Most importantly, be sure to eliminate direct wind on mushroom bodies so as to prevent withering phenomenon.

3. Control the humidity: During the growth period of sporocarps, you should scientifically manage the moisture and then spray water in accordance with body size, appearance and actual climate condition, eliminate any water-spraying on tiny mushrooms. What’s more, water-spraying should be combined with ventilation, fresh air enables mushrooms to grow robustly. In cultivation venue, it is proper to create the relative air humidity range of 85%-90%. Besides, tiny mushrooms are sensitive to space humidity, when it is lower than 70%, differentiated sporocarps stop growing while sundry fungus contamination is apparent when it is higher than 95%。

4. Moderate illumination: Certain scattered light is needed during the fruiting period and 300-600 LUX is the general range.

5. Pick mushroom in due course: In general, 10-12 days are needed from the occurrence of buds to the maturity of sporocarps under considerable environmental conditions. Generally, Monkey head mushrooms could be harvested in 3-4 batches, high-yield and quality are evident during 1-2 batch. The cultivation of regeneration refers to that after you pick the first batch of mushrooms, avoid any water-spraying in 3 days time, uncover the film and ventilate for 12 hours so as to shrink the surface of mushroom root and eliminate mold, then adjust the temperature to a range of 23-25 degrees so that mycelia accumulate nutrients, after 5 days or so, primordia appears and after 10 days, tiny buds form, under that circumstance, lower the temperature to 16-20 degrees and raise relative air humidity to 90% or so. During the whole production period, the production terminates after 60-70 days and the biological transformation rate comes to 90%-100%.
