Over the years, Shizhai Town, Feng County, Jiangsu Province of China has been relying on reality and vigorously developing modern agriculture and characteristic industry.

Till now, Five Thriving Industries which refer to Mushroom, Superior Fruit, Ecological Breeding and Photovoltaic Industry have come into being in the town.

In Shizhai Town, characteristic varieties include onion and garlic, and the most conspicuous industry belongs to Black fungus.

Black fungus industry holds over 20 years of history, now, there are 5000 standardized Black fungus greenhouses in the town, gross capacity totals 250 million bags, annual output on dried Black fungus comes to 20,000 tons and nearly 10,000 people are absorbed to get jobs within the industry. In addition, 23 specialized cooperatives have been built in the town, which contributes to annual average per capita income of 3000 CNY or so.

This year, Auricularia fuscosuccinea, Ganoderma and other new varieties have been successively introduced, which helped broaden farmers’ road to become well-off.
