Not long ago, a mass of wild Phellinus igniarius were found under an old tree in Yinling Village, Sichuan Province of China. According to know, the age of the tree is 500 years or so, most parts of it have become withered while fungi vigorously grow on it. 

As shown in the picture, these Phellinus igniarius appear yellowish-brown in cap and section, black brown in the back and they carry clear lines and distinct gradation.
